The Royal College of Physicians （RCP） is an independent medical charity in the United Kingdom. We work to advance health and improve care for patients by setting and raising standards across all levels of medicine， from undergraduate training to practice management. The RCP has just over 40，000 members including doctors， physician associates， trainees and medical students， as well as thousands of international members and other stakeholders.
The RCP is located at 11 St Andrews Place (off Regent's Park) in London， and also operates from a number of regional centres around England and Wales， with offices in Belfast、Edinburgh 和 Cardiff. It currently employs approximately 250 people， including full-time staff working on its main activities， part-time staff and many volunteers.
In line with our mission“to support physicians and keep people at the heart of medicine”we are proud that nearly two-thirds of our workforce are doctors， who give their time voluntarily because they believe in what we do.
We are passionate about supporting， educating and advocating for our diverse membership， and we continually review our strategies and activities to ensure that we reach those who need us most and provide them with the right level of support. Our services are free and open to anyone who needs us – whether you’re just starting out in your career or you’ve been practising for years.
To help us build on this success and respond even more effectively to member needs， we recently embarked on a major programme of work to transform the way we work， including digitalising our services and moving into a new purpose-built office.
Our new home will bring us together with the Academy of Medical Sciences， the Faculty of Dental Surgery at King’s， and our sister organisations in one location——a landmark development in the history of UK medicine， and a symbol of how we can deliver better solutions to enhance patient care in the future.
